The Ledger Nano X is a leading hardware wallet, providing a robust solution for the secure, offline storage of cryptocurrencies. It offers Bluetooth connectivity for mobile usability and supports an extensive array of digital assets. While its security architecture is widely praised, a 2020 customer database breach at Ledger raised significant privacy concerns, distinguishing the device's integrity from the company's data handling.

scam or legit
Legit. Ledger Nano X shows the markers we look for in a credible operator: identifiable team, working product, transparent terms and consistent withdrawal performance. No platform is risk-free, but on the evidence available there is no reason to consider Ledger Nano X a scam.

What you get
Secure Element chip
Private keys are generated and stored on a certified secure-element chip, isolated from your phone or PC — the core of true cold storage.
Bluetooth + Ledger Live
Manage 5,500+ coins and tokens through Ledger Live on desktop or mobile, with Bluetooth on the Nano X for phone use.
On-device confirmation
Every transaction must be physically approved on the device screen, so malware on your computer can't move funds without you.
Works with dApps
Use it as a hardware signer with MetaMask and many dApps, plus built-in buy, swap and staking in Ledger Live.
Who it's for
Anyone holding meaningful crypto long-term who wants their keys offline — especially multi-chain holders who value the widest asset support and a polished app.

🔒 Verify, don't trust
Buy only direct from Ledger or an authorised reseller, never used. Set it up yourself, write the 24-word recovery phrase on paper, and never type or photograph it — Ledger will never ask for your recovery phrase by email, call or app.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Ledger Nano X safe?+
Yes — keys stay on a certified secure element and every transaction is confirmed on-device, so PC malware can't move funds. The main risks are phishing (from the 2020 data leak) and buying tampered units, both avoidable.
Was Ledger hacked?+
The devices weren't. In 2020 Ledger's e-commerce database leaked customer names and contact details, which scammers still use for phishing. Your keys and funds were never exposed by that breach.
Ledger vs Trezor?+
Ledger supports more assets (5,500+) and has a polished app with Bluetooth; Trezor is fully open-source. Both are excellent — pick Ledger for breadth, Trezor for open-source purity.
What if I lose my Ledger?+
Your funds live on the blockchain, not the device. Restore them on a new Ledger (or compatible wallet) using your 24-word recovery phrase — which is why that phrase must be kept safe and offline.
